A few years of my life was spent in Utah County attending one of the local Universities. Ok, at the time it was the ONLY University. I met many wonderful people there but never quite fit in. I seemed to often run into the few who thought it was their mission in the world to enforce what they perceived as the true L.D.S. culture and standards on anyone who appeared to be "unorthodox." Having grown up in s. California I was used to a more relaxed live and let-live attitude. By those standards I was as conservative as it gets, so it wasn't as if I was in Utah living a pagan lifestyle. The perception of constant judging by the few turned me off to Utah Valley and I found a more comfortable educational experience in Logan. My point is that there is much truth in this satiric work by Mark C. Smith. This book is for the sinner. Not the ones who recognize their imperfections and doing due diligence in trying weaknesses, but is for those of a relatively small percentage (although at times it can seem like much higher than it is) who elevate themselves, in their own mind, to a status that if reality would call for instant translation to heaven. I doubt that someone so close-minded would see themselves as like the main character in this book. Dang, now I am the woeful sinner who is judging these "perfect" nemeses so harshly. I guess I better re-read the book and take heed myself.Product details

Everyone is a Sinner But Me Mark C Smith Michael Watkins Casey W Walker Books Reviews
So funny!
A good message for anyone to hear, it reminds us all that God is the judge, we don't need to be.
Cleverly written and wonderfully illustrated. A must-have adult kids book for anyone who appreciates moderate satire aimed at Mormonism and religion in general. Has much the same feel as "The Book of Mormon The Musical" in that it takes playful jabs at the Mormon and religious communities.
5 stars.
Cleverly written and great illustration. Perfect gift for that "perfect" person in your life ). The satirical writing portrays the point perfectly, without coming across as offensive.
I loved this book. It was humorous, but quite serious at the same time. If you have lived in the area the book is written about, you truly understand where the author is coming from. There are many people who are judgmental but don't realize it and this book says this same thing in a very clever way. The illustrations were awesome and I thought they brought out the meaning of the book much better and brought to life the words of the story. It helped to have the pictures to help tell the story! I would recommend this book to anyone.

This book changed my life! I thought I was the only near-perfect person out there, and now I learn that there are scores of non-sinners in Utah Valley. After seven years living near Provo, I realize how blind I was to the truth. This is truly Utopia for all of us who know just what is right. Some reviewers called this book a satire. It is not. It is a guide for true happiness. You just have to think, ponder, and pray about it. Thank you Mark for your insight, Casey for your spot-on illustrations, and especially Mikey for coloring within the lines. Bravo to all three.
I thought it was great. A very tongue-in-cheek satire of Utah culture - though I swear I've meet the protagonist before in my Utahan travels. You many not understand it if you haven't lived in a large Mormon community for an extended period of time. Would be great as a gift or maybe an adult FHE activity to read through. Only con is that some of the illustrations came out slightly pixelated in print. Other than that, its great to see something poke fun at all of the things that were infuriating in Utah.
